The History of MCG Morgans
Gerald and Kathe both herald from Mansfield, Ohio, where as a child Kathe frequented the Devan Stud; which is where their original broodmare was purchased at the direction of Merle Evans. Thornton Carr was her first trainer and guided her to the Class A show ring, where there were many wonderful success stories.
Today, the Mcginnis' work hard to promote the Morgan horse in Central Texas by competeing in Class A Morgan shows, local fun shows, and a variety of 4-H and youth related activities. They like to boast the fact that most of the horses they breed and raise have found homes with first time horse owners and especially first time Morgan owners. Their farm slogan perhaps says it best : MOTION WITH A MIND.
